In its natural form, this item has a black horn looking like it came from a goat, or perhaps a gazelle. The horn is about 6 inches long, slightly curved with a slight curl and numerous ridges from base to tip. The tip of the horn is very sharp and suitable for use as an awl or perhaps a tool for planting seeds. The horn is mounted to a handle of rich cream brown ivory. The ivory has 5 scrimshaw carvings of hornets with emeralds set for their abdomens. A larger emerald is set in the end of the handle as a pommel.
