The Dreamsong sept is very closely associated with the noble House of Khilat. They are privy to the secrets of the House of Khilat and can freely enter the main estate.

After the Khilats moved their primary estate to the Vale of Evereka, the large estate in the mountains surrounding Evereska reverted to control of the Dreamsongs. The estate is built to blend into the surroundings and magic remains to keep it hidden from non-elves. The surrounding area includes numerous orchards and other forms of agriculture blended into the natural environment. Domesticated animals are also raised, including a heard of moonhorses.

Other estates are held throughout the mountains of Evereska and the Grey Cloaks, as well as strongholds on the merchant paths in various Elven kingdoms. Warehouses are also maintained in various Elven cities as well as certain human cities friendly to elves. Estates and strongholds are often allocated to Dreamsong warrior lords who have earned a reputation.

Appearance and Traits

Dreamsongs are typically taller than the average Moon Elf, and tend to be stately and graceful. Traits of their Tulani heritage from Ary'a'sum run true in the family. Many have excellent signing voices. They have a strong tendency for blue black hair, though silver hair is also fairly common. Eyes are most often green, but piercing blue eyes are common, and rarer still golden green; all with glittering gold flecks. Skin tones are the usual lightly bronze with twinges of pale blue.

This lesser branch is known for producing skilled rangers, as well as wizards, fighters, priests and an occasional bard. Many also serve as merchants who trade goods between Elven enclaves throughout Faerun. Others are skilled artisans, producing weapons and musical instruments; and occasionally produce simple magical weapons or instruments under contract.

Insignia

The insignia of the sept is a gold star with a half circle of silver stars in an arc above the gold one, on a circular field of dark blue. A translucent image of a silver dragon, like wisps of smoke, typically in a shade of dark blue just a tinge lighter than the background field, floats between the central star and the arch of stars above. When made into jewelry, deep blue sapphire is a favorite stone, and star sapphire often used for the stars.

Colors for the sept are gold, silver and dark blue.

House Relationships

Septs

Dreamsong's minor branches are Aradrym, Starsong and Shelrae, who hold allegiance to the House of Khilat. The leaders at each level are bound together by family secrets and magic bonding between Kiira.

Allies

Moonflower

The House of Khilat has a secret connection to the House of Moonflower. Every three to five generations, a high ranking daughter of the House of Moonflower consents to marriage into the House of Khilat. This secret is held so tightly that only Moonflower house leaders know why the request of a Khilat emissary are given any consideration.

Dragons

Silver

Several clans of Silver Dragons remain allies of the House of Khilat. Martial training of Khilat Warriors often include aerial combat maneuvers with Silver Dragons, while some warriors become fully trained Windriders. Both sides understand the advantage of powerful warriors on the backs of powerful dragons, and each call on the other when confronting powerful enemies.

Silver Priestesses

An ancient line of Silver Dragon Priestesses have chosen to server Sehanine or Selune. They maintain several moon temples on the snow covered peaks of the tallest mountains where they can conduct rituals in seclusion. They also polymorph into human or Elven form and take on secret identities as priestesses at major temples of Selune or Sehanine. It is not uncommon for priests from the House of Khilat to join these dragons in certain ceremonies.

Other

House leaders often develop relationships with other types of dragons including Gold Dragons, Bronze Dragons, Song Dragons and Moonstone Dragons. Khilat family members have been asked to participate in gatherings of Dragons for Dragonsong events.

Enemies

Vyshaan

The House of Khilat, and it's major Septs of Dreamsong, Silverbow and Meadowdancer are ancient enemies of the ancient ruling House of Vyshaan. They secretly guard the ancient Vyshaan strongholds hidden in the mountains of Evereska.

Evil Dragons

The House of Khilat, and it's major Septs of Dreamsong and Silverbow routinely hunt evil dragons, and have a particularly viciousness against shadow and deep dragons.
