Elven ChainMail, Stealth

This extremely rare form of elven chainmail is almost exclusively fitted to elves and half-elves. The chainmail is attached to a fine quilted spider silk undergarment.

Powers

Stealth mail grants freedom of movement equal to unarmored wear, making it ideal for thieves, spellcasters, and martial artists without hindering their abilities. As light as a normal set of clothes, the suit weighs a mere 3 pounds, counting as unencumbered when calculating movement rate. It is comfortable enough to wear to sleep. It can be worn beneath normal clothing, remaining completely undetectable. It is odorless, and usually has a matte finish to avoid reflecting light.

The armor is magically enchanted to remain silent, making no sound even when struck by weapons. The wearer may activate complete silence at will, eliminating noise from himself, equipment worn, and any item touched including his footsteps. While the armor remains silent, the singing steel alloy amplifies the wearer’s voice, providing +1 to all proficiencies and skills for speaking and singing.

Like standard Elven chainmail, this armor is enchanted to provide +1 to +5 bonus AC, with the enhancement also applying to saving throws.

History

Current Owner: Chiliad Khilat

This suit of chain has its origins with certain Lost elves of the Border Forest and no known heirs have been identified. It is high quality and made from Elven singing steel, an alloy of mithril and gold, forged with legendary magical techniques and craftsmanship. It is pale golden in color with the faint image of a rising sun on the chest.

The original suit was enchanted to +3, but Chiliad has had it enhanced to +4.
