Description

Midnight’s natural form is a pseudodragon, with dusky red body, leathery wings and a barbed tail with a stinger. Since becoming a bound companion of Shasalae, her typical draconian form is a miniature Shadow Dragon. Her scales are a cloudy translucent deep grey like shadows, with deep violet iridescence in bright light. Her eyes are deep violet. Her claws are deep maroon. Her eyes are usually squinting, especially when showing displeasure. Due to her color, she has a 40% chance of hiding in shadows, though she is usually invisible when she wants to hide. With her chameleon powers, she can easily blend into nearly any environment, or appear as various forms of miniature metallic or chromatic dragons - shiny gold, silver, brass or bronze, dusky red, bright green, deep maroon, etc.

Midnight is quiet and sneaky, with a very catlike personality. She enjoys stalking and likes to catch her “prey” unawares, and occasionally takes and hides small items from those who have annoyed her. Like her larger dragon kin, she likes to collect and hoard treasures, usually small pretty object, but won’t steal from others unless ownership of the item is questionable. She likes to receive attention and pampering from Shasalae. She only communicates with her companions by telepathy, and otherwise only speaks in direst emergency.

Background

When Shasalae summoned a special animal companion, Nathair Sgiathach sent a special pseudodragon to serve as familiar.

Shasalae‘s special animal companions serve like wizard familiars, performing small tasks, including house hold chores, guarding Chiliad in his sleep, and delivering messages.

Midnight has learned to assume a variety of alias' in order to follow Shasalae to various locations. She prefers reptilian forms.

Sylmae

Sprite
Sylmae has milky white skin, wavy golden hair, pointy ears, bright blue eyes and iridescent crystal wings. She wears short silky dresses in a variety of colors, with gossamer accessories. She likes sparkle and often wears a miniature tiara.
Sylmae talks fast all the time and flits about. She has a hard time staying still and often does her work quickly but not always the best quality. Her voice is a high pitched tinkle. If you listen, you’ll hear her slip in various compliments about how wonderful lady Glimmer is.
This is the form she usually assumes when she needs to do tasks better suited to hands.

Sea Sprite
In this form, she has smooth skin with a blue grey tinge similar to the underside of a dolphin. She loses her wings and has webbed fingers and toes.

Myriel

Moon Elf
Myriel is very petite and has pale skin with a blue sheen, long gold hair and green eyes with gold flecks. She likes to wear long colorful dresses with intricate patterns, even when adventuring with Chiliad. She’ll add necklaces, rings, earrings and wire braids to her hair to suit her mood.
She is quiet and somewhat mischievous. She almost always has a smile on her face, and the more mischievous she is feeling, the more teeth show in her smile. She’ll giggle at the drop of a hat, and sometimes when it isn’t appropriate. She is not mean, but she’d rather tease or trick you to do things her way than to ask directly.
This is the guise she will use when she feels the need to enter buildings or locations with Demi-humans. Unless she knows she’ll need this form for a specific purpose, she’s happy to assume it whenever it pleases her.

Aquatic Elf
While retaining the overall look of Myriel, her skin and hair takes on a green tinge. Her hands and feet have webbing. She has several hard to see gill slits hidden behind her ears.

Crimson

miniature Deep Dragon
Crimson has the appearance and proportion of an adult deep dragon but is only about 20 feet long. Her scales are iridescent maroon. Her eyes are purple and horns are deep maroon.
She doesn’t have any magical abilities inherent to deep dragons, but can fly and physically battle with typically dragon tactics equivalent to a juvenile deep dragon.

Sneaky

Sneaky is a small black scaled snake with leathery wings behind her draconic head. Her eyes are deep violet.

She has needle-sharp fangs that deliver a poisonous bite.
