Zacarel previously served the fallen solar Malkizid and had been duped into several actions that supported Malkizid's betrayal of Corellon Larethian. As a result, Zacarel was stripped of his celestial powers, though he was allowed to retain his Movanic Deva form. After Malkizid was cast out of Arborea, Zacarel spent several centuries in penitence, seeking to be forgiven. Eventually he heard of Lord Sultaasarn's assignment to work against his former master and petitioned to serve the Tulani Lord. Over the centuries he has been promoted to Planetar status.
