Priest Spells

The kiira wearer gains priest abilities, including spell casting and turning undead. Using an appropriate holy symbol, undead are turned at the wearer’s current priest level +1, 1st level for those without a priest class.

The ability to cast priest spells is granted, allowing the wearer to cast spells as a 1st level priest with applicable wisdom bonus. Those already able to cast priest spells benefit as if they were one level higher than their actual level, with additional spells following standard spell level progression. Minor assess is granted to all spheres of influence, including specialty spells of the Seldarine and their allies as determined by progenitor proxies.

Spells are cast at higher spell caster levels based on dominant Eladrin heritage:

  • Tulani - 4 levels higher than actual.
  • Ghaele - 4 levels higher than actual.
  • Fiere - 2 level higher than actual.

Wizard Magic

The wielder is enabled to cast spells as a wizard. Use of magic items usually restricted to wizards is enabled through knowledge gained from the kiira. Proficiencies available to wizards can be learned at no additional proficiency cost. The best saving throw available to the character can be taken from all available classes, including the saving throw of a wizard at the level applicable.

  • If the wielder has less than a 9 intelligence score, the ability to cast cantrips is granted, 1 cantrip for every 2 points of intelligence. Cantrips are learned from the knowledge stored in the kiira.
  • If the wielder has an intelligence score of at least 9, then skills as a 1st level wizard are achieved at the next level advancement. Another wizard level is gained at each level advancement, with spells learned from the knowledge stored in the kiira. Level advancement does not include additional hit points from the wizard level advancement, as only the original class advancement is considered.
  • If the wielder already has a class capable of casting arcane spells, then spell progression of the existing class is compared with comparable number of spells of the wizard spell progression to determine the starting level of wizard abilities.

Spell Song

The Druidic Bard may choose to sing any spells that have verbal components or use a musical instrument for the somatic component. A successful singing proficiency check will allow the spell to be cast at one level higher; while failure results in the spell being cast at two levels lower. A successful musical instrument proficiency check will allow the spell to be cast at one level higher; while failure results in the spell being cast at two levels lower. Spells with verbal and somatic components can be affected by both checks. Should the resulting casting level be less than 1, the spell fails and is wasted. Material components must be stored on the bard's person or freely found within 10' of the bard, in the case of natural components such as sand. If the material component is not available, the spell fails.

Not all instruments can be used for spell singing. First of all, if a spell requires a verbal component (singing), only those instruments that leave the bard's mouth free can be used. This eliminates most of the wind instruments. If the spell requires a somatic component, the instrument must support numerous, complex hand manipulations (as is true of any stringed instrument). This eliminates gongs, cymbals, drums, and most of the percussion family. Thus, bards typically carry stringed instruments. Keyboard instruments would work but are generally too bulky to carry around.

High Magic

If the wielder has a wizard level equivalent to at least 17, intelligence of 18, wisdom of 18 and a constitution of 12, then it is possible to learn High Magic from the Selu’Kiira, which can teach up to 2d12 rituals.

The kiira wearer can cast spells of complement and myriad without the need of other spell casters, calling on the progenitor proxies to support the casting of High Magic. Intelligence and wisdom requirements must still be met by the caster, who is also limited in the number of rituals that can be completely in a given timeframe. The wearer is protected from any side effects and resulting consequences of the use of High Magic.

Rite

Lord Elian gathered 3 Starsingers and 7 Knights of the 7th Order of the Seven Sacred Mysteries, along with the silver dragon Khilat. The ceremony was held in an ancient moon temple high in the Star Mounts, under a bright full moon and clear sky in a field of Motes of Moonlight and a Moonbeam spell. The Starsingers called Moonfire onto the alter to bathe Lord Elian and the sword. Each of the knights called forth Moon Blade spells in the shapes of their preferred swords and dubbed Lord Elian and the Moonblade which absorbed each of the seven Moon Blade spells. Lord Elian cast Detect Spirits at the same moment his own spirit was bound to the blade and he watched it pass into the moonstone.
