This staff looks like any long and relatively straight stick, stripped of branches and most of the bark, suitable for use as a walking stick one might find on a trail.

Powers

Only a Druid or nature priest will recognize the staff. The staff can hold 25 charges and can be recharged.

If the staff is touched to the trunk of a healthy green tree it will attach itself and grow branches and leaves matching the tree it is attached to. While attached, and the tree remains healthy and green, the staff regains one charge per day. If a dryad lives in the tree, the staff will recharge at the rate of 2 charges per day. Charging the staff in this manner can be problematic in the fall and winter. Once the staff is fully charged, it will lose its leaves and branches and fall to the ground. Dryads finding such fallen staves are likely to hide them in order to seek some favor of the owner.

The staff has the following powers that may be used, one per round, without consuming charges:

  • Animal Santuary
  • Detect Snares and Pits
  • Locate Animals and Plants
  • Heal Plant

The following powers consume one charge:

  • Cure Moderate Wounds
  • Heal Tree
  • Plant Growth
  • Tree

The following powers consume two charges:

  • Animal Growth
  • Animal Summoning II
  • Animate Tree

The staff can be used as a weapon equivalent to a quarterstaff +2.
