Silverbow Sept

The Silverbow sept is a greater branch that provides servants and martial support for the Khilats. Those who serve as household servants of the Khilat estate are privey to many of the secrets of the house, but they are sworn to secrecy, while others hear rumors but know better than to repeat them outside of the Silverbow sept.

Appearance and Traits

Silverbows are typically taller than the average Moon Elf, and tend to be lean and strong. Traits of their Ghaele heritage from Arvelenil run true in the family. They are loyal to a fault and very protective of other elves and family holdings. They have a strong tendency for pale golden hair, though silver hair is also fairly common. Eyes are most often green, but piercing blue eyes are common, with glittering gold flecks. Skin tones are the usual milky white with twinges of pale blue.

The sept is known for producing skilled archers and warriors. They have some priests and wizards, but few of any note are produced. Silverbow bowyers are highly respected and their bows are prized. Occasion skilled artisans can be found producing a variety of quality crafts including weapons, musical instruments and fine goods such as jewelry. Many others manage the various household tasks of the various estates.

The sept also performs some of the less savory tasks for the house of Khilat, including information gathering and spying. Common thievery is not condoned, but occasionally overlooked if it serves the common good of the house.

Insignia

The sept insignia is a silver bow strung with an arrow with a star shaped head having a golden nimbus, all on a field of green.

The colors of the sept are green with gold and silver decoration.

• Silver Cleaver - Sharpness +3 Long Sword, Int 16, AL CG, Strength 1/day 8 hours. It is reserved for ceremonial occasions.
• Shadow Dancer - Long Sword +3, create shadows 100'. Reserved for the highest ranking bladesinger of the house, who is often the Master Protector. It is carved from one of the great horns from the head of Noctdrakken.
• Silver Bow - Longbow of Speed +3, allowing the archer to use any arrow desired within 30', including unbroken used arrows. The bow is usually held by the Master Archer.

• Ar'Kiira'Silverbow - This Tel'Kiira is retained by the house leader. Has a Shiere Eladrin bound to the gem.
• Kiira'Silverbow - This Kiira is controlled by the highest ranking Mage of the Silverbow Sept.

• Twilight Mail - Elven ChainMail +4, covered with translucent shadow dragon skin with a red undertone, crafted from the hide of Noctdrakken. The ChainMail can be seen through the translucent scaly hide, and displays a silver dragon rampant on the breast. The armor is weightless and grants +25% to hiding in shadows. Provides alter self at will, including changing the appearance of the armor, as armor of blending. Provides immunity to energy drain attacks and reduces damage from gas attacks by -4 per die of damage.

• The Five Stone Fingers - This is a set of five + 3 arrows with incredibly sharp conical black heads, shafts of magically hardened silver adamantium, and fetching of stiff translucent black barbs. The arrows are unbreakable and can pierce armor and stone on a natural role of 18+. The armor class value of metal and stone armor is treated as AC 10, though magical pluses still benefit the opponent. Only magical protection of +5 or better is immune to their deadly strike. The arrow heads were crafted from claws of Noctdrakken. They will magically teleport back to the quiver of the archer who fired them at the end of the round unless commanded to stay fast, and can be summoned by a secret command word from anywhere on the same plane.

• Giiraegisir'Silverbow - AC 0 for 5 rounds, and dimension door opens and is available for use within the 5 rounds. Cameo of the sept insignia. The brooch will only function for the person to which it has been issued and attuned by a house leader. It can also serve as a key to gain access to various parts of the house estates.
• Shadow Kisser - A small bead of black bone that attaches to the string of a bow. The shadow kisser can produce as many arrows nocked to the bow as an archer can fire in one turn, when activated by a command word. The arrows are made of demi-shadow magic, providing full normal damage unless disbelieved or identified as illusory by the opponent, which reduces their damage to 60% normal. The arrows are +1 to hit and damage and have twice the range values normal for the bow.
• Totem Arrows - Arrows blessed with eagle, hawk and/or strike totems by the totem sisters of the Meadowdancer sept.

Septs

Silverbow's minor branches are Silvergleaming, Drusaril and Laramiir, who hold allegiance to the House of Khilat. The leaders at each level are bound together by family secrets and magic bonding between Kiira.

Enemies

Vyshaan

The House of Khilat, and it's major Septs of Dreamsong, Silverbow and Meadowdancer are ancient enemies of the ancient ruling House of Vyshaan. They secretly guard the ancient Vyshaan strongholds hidden in the mountains of Evereska.

Evil Dragons

The House of Khilat, and it's major Septs of Dreamsong and Silverbow routinely hunt evil dragons, and have a particularly viciousness against shadow and deep dragons.
