Rod of Stars

This rod is 18 inches long and 1½ inches thick. The ends are rounded off and have a star shape approximately ¾ inch in diameter. The rod is made of sapphire and one end has numerous gold glowing five pointed stars.

The Crystal Wand will easily attach to the end without stars. The Sapphire Staff will only attach to the side with stars after it is threaded through the Scepter of Wild Magic.

Powers

The rod absorbs up to 50 spell levels of magic energy of spells directed at the wielder, excluding area based attacks. Absorbed spell levels can be reused to power the other parts of the staff.

The rod will allow the user to borrow the power of another valley artifact once per month. During the use of the power, the original artifact can’t use the power concurrently, but it does not count against the use of that power for the original artifact. Such powers include:

• Water bow – 1d4 damage plus 3d10 tidal damage with range of 120’.
• Shadow Monsters – 12HD within 20ft cube lasting 12 rounds.
• Solar Prominence – 60’ range ending in 10 cubic foot area doing 7d6 damage.
• Protection from Lightning – can redirect a lightning bolt to 5 opponents
• Earthquake – 60 diameter
• Shiny Armor – 3 rounds of protection requiring +3 weapons to hit.
