Piir'Gisir'Nikerym
The sword is simple and compact, but has elven styled engraving filled with lines of gold and silver. The blade is forged from mithral with a mottled blue sheen. It's name is engraved in gold filled elvish script on its blade. Corellon Larethian's crescent moon symbol is engraved with silver fill at the base of the blade, above the handle. The handle is crafted from platinum with a dull lustery sheen. The handle is wrapped with leather that can be replaced as needed. It's pommel is heart shaped and made of gold to honor Hanali Celanil.
Powers
Short Sword of Quickness +2 "The Treasure Guardian"
Piir'Gisir'Nikerym is an intelligent (17) short sword of chaotic good alignment and ego of 21. The sword can communicate telepathically and speaks Elven and common. It can read writing, maps and magical script. It's special purpose is to recover elven magic items and treasures.
The blade allows it wielder the first strike each round, or simultaneous attack against similar swords or magic effects.
It has the following powers:
- Detect Traps, 10' radius
- Detect Magic, 10' radius
- Locate Object, 120' radius
- Teleport, 1/day, 600 lbs maximum weight
- Legend Lore, 1/week
It will tell its owner it's powers and purpose and can control when and how those powers are used on its owner's behalf.
When pursuing its special purpose, it can paralyze owners or guardians of identified elven treasures. This power is cast at 15th level and each creature is affected for 2d4 rounds. Any number of creatures in 60' radius can be affected, but not more than once a day per creature. Those who do not possess the item in question or were not charges with guarding it, will not be affected.
The sword will communicate telepathically with opponents when it feels it can negotiate for the return of the treasure it seeks, or can avoid killing. The sword does not need to know a common language to communicate this way. It may choose to have its wielder listen in on such communications, but can also speak to others without the wielder's knowledge. It will also readily communicate with any Knight of the Order of the Forgotten Flower or other collector of elven treasures, often just saying hello with a cheery attitude. It will always seek to be wielded by the most powerful person who shares it's desire to recover elven treasures to return to the elven nation. It will bypass potential wielder's if it believes it will not be used effectively for its purpose, especially if it must compete with a more powerful sword. When it desires a new owner and the new owner has been contacted and willing, the sword will usually ask to be given to the new owner, but it has been known to paralyze its current wielder to enable the transfer. The sword will be good natured and generally cheerful as long as it has a chance to discover and recover treasures. It considers itself an elven treasure and will use its power of paralyzation to protect itself, paralyzing others before it can be picked up, with an additional paralyzation attempt with no saving throw every turn against anyone actually wielding it.
