Khilat Dragon Bloodline

From House of Khilat

Dragon bloodline is very strong and can lay dormant in non-dragons for generations. Typically, the bloodlines come from certain of the metalic dragons that can polymorph, including gold, silver and bronze dragons, but deep dragons occasionally produce offspring amongst the Drow and other half breeds have been known. Half dragons are usually considered abominations and are typically destroyed, but occasionally they are allowed to thrive.

The Khilat bloodline has a strange mix of silver, deep and shadow dragon blood. While silver is strongest, traits from deep and shadow dragon blood appear with regularity.

Even latent, the bloodline has influence on Khilat's descendants, which includes many robust warriors, wizards and priests. Already traditional in the elven family line, rangers are very common. Rogues are uncommon and typically present when deep or shadow dragon blood is more dominant. Innate abilities and other traits are extremely uncommon (5%).

Activated Bloodline

Dragons can activate latent draconian bloodlines through a variety of means. Khilat used a draconian ceremony and spell to activate the latent bloodline of his descendants. When applied to young children, benefits are incorporated into the regular growth pattern, but more often the transformation is applied to adults when Khilat is assured of their morals. Transformations later in life are quick, often overnight, or taking mere days or weeks.

Alignment

Alignment is shifted one place. If the beneficiary is non-good, the alignment will be shifted one step up into good. If he is already good, then the step will shift one place towards lawful. If this shift will result in becoming ineligible for an existing class, then a saving throw vs magic is granted to avoid the shift. If the save is failed, the character may take further actions to restore himself into good standing to retain a character class that has a strong ethos requirement.

Khilat would destroy an evil character before he would ever empower them with this gift.
