Diann’s father was a sun elf blacksmith who fell into disfavor with his family. Her mother a farmers daughter who often worked with horses. They bought and ran a small inn with a stable and smithy. When Diann was young, a Paladin of Milil would visit the inn often and took to requesting his “Squire” to groom the horses, check the shoes and saddle, and mend various items of gear. The Paladin stopped coming around after a while, with rumors of being slain in battle against evil. When she came of age, she presented herself to be a squire, but ultimately was rejected as a knight, being the daughter of a disgraced elf and farmer. Still, she served as squire to any who would have her.

Milil saw the passion of her heart, so when Chiliad’s quest began, she was called by Jorin Allegro to serve. Chiliad saw her passion as well and always treated her with the respect a true servant of Milil deserves. After swearing her allegiance, she remained loyal and follows everywhere Chiliad will allow.

When in Cormyr she steers clear of Daegan Theorsen who claims the ancestral title of Squire for Chiliad.
