Dark Drinker

Dark Drinker is a Drow scimitar +2 made of Adamantite. The blade has a serrated edge and the tip comes to a very sharp point. A dragon is etched in black into the blade, just above the guard. The guard is small and oval, making the sword look much like a katana. The handle appears to be made of black translucent leathery scaled skin. The tang of the blade can be seen through the translucent shadow handle and it has a series of spots along thin edge that glow a ghastly green. The tang has Drow script of ghastly glowing green inscribing the name of the sword that loosely translates as “Dark Drinker”.

Powers

In addition to doing double damage to creatures of shadow or negative material plane, it has the following powers:

Silence 15’ 10 rounds, once per day.
Darkness 15’ 10 rounds, once per day. The wielder and selected friends can be allowed to see through the darkness as a dark fog.
The tip of the blade can suck up magical darkness at the rate of 10 cubic feet per round.
Grants 60’ the holder Infravision or doubles the natural range, even in magical darkness
adds 10% to the wielders chance to hide in shadows
The sword can bring forth the shadow spirit of a Shadow Dragon with similar qualities of Demi-Shadow Monster being able to summon 20 HD per week. The size of the dragon will scale from 1-21 feet long. Actual hit points will be 50% of the amount summoned. The dragon can support 20 pounds of weight per foot of size in flight. The dragon is neutrally aligned and will faithfully serve the sword wielder.

The glowing radiation of the tang will keep Drow gear from deteriorating in sunlight. Such gear must be within 10' radius to avoid deteriorating, though gear stored in magical darkness can retain their properties for a few hours without the presence of the sword.

The sword was captured by the Night Warder of the Valley of the Stars. The Mage of the Valley of the Stars created the Night Guard to twist the magic of the blade to combat Drow.
