When inactive, the sword will appear as a plain weapon of dull grey steel. When held by a nature loving warrior, the blade will change color to reflect local prevailing weather; golden metal for a sunny day, mottled grey on a cloudy day, swirly lines for a windy day with more swirls for more wind, blue drops for rain, white dots for hail, and white flakes for snow.

Once per week, the blade can be used to control weather. When held aloft, with the blade pointed at the sky, a column of new weather will rise from the blade high into the sky where it will then spread to cover 4d4 miles around the wielder. A Druid or priest of a nature or weather deity can shift each category of weather by two places.
