An amulet is only given to members of the Circle of the Ancients, special followers and heroes of the circle. It must be specifically attuned to the wearer by a member before it will function. A single wearer may not benefit from multiple amulets simultaneously.

An amulet is created by a Hierophant Elder for a specific recipient. It is created from a wooden disk taken from a sacred tree, which is then bound with a ring of unicorn horn collected from a unicorn that has died naturally. The wood is often carved with a significant image, such as the wearer’s patron deity, a sacred tree, or a majestic unicorn (often the donor unicorn). The totem symbol of the recipient’s Druidic patron power (a patron power associated with the circle) is inscribed onto the amulet to serve as a holy symbol. The wooden disk is blessed by a circle dryad or hamadryad, typically the one associated with the tree from which the wood was harvested. The carved disk has ironwood cast upon it, followed by a ceremony spell to complete the enchantment on the amulet.

Powers

The wearer radiates an aura out to 30 feet, which grants a +1 favorable reaction adjustment to influence natural animals, druids and associated creatures. This aura may be detected by any other amulet wearer, with a 5% chance per class level of the wearer to identify the other, without needing to see each other, if they have met previously while wearing amulets.

The amulet:

  • casts Pass Plant twice per month. All Pass Plant spells, cast from the amulet, the wearer or any of his devices, are enhanced to have unlimited range when passing to a Sacred Tree of the circle.
  • provides +1 protection to the wearer.
  • replaces all uses of mistletoe as a holy symbol in spell casting.
  • can be used to activate standing stones constructed by druids.
