Isstienn protects its wielder against fire similar to a ring of fire resistance, making the wielder totally immune to normal fires, while exceptionally hot fires will be limited to 10 hit points per round. Magical fires are saved against with +4 bonus and reducing each die by -2 points, but never below 1 point per die.

The sword also has a 50% chance of extinguishing any fire within 10 feet – including wall of fire, but excluding fireball, meteor swarm of flame strike.
